(The following were written at L.M. Jackson's cottage
in Flatrock as part of the
Newfoundland Writers Guild summer day retreat.)
#1
yellow lichen stay
frothy milk waves explode high
seaweed wash flatrock
#2
sadness rolls inside
emotional tumult building
wait for bursting wave
#3
cling to bleak reason
as seaweed clings in wave surge
seagull lit smooth cliff
#4
perked reality
black coffee purculating
warned boil over
#5
griefs grey fog swirling
swallowed stones fill empty gut
search shoreline for tears
#6
new commune living
snails thrive hidden wood horse
free from work boot crush
